Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska began her legal career with the Antitrust Division of the U. S. Department of Justice, where she worked for sixteen years. As a senior trial attorney for the Division, she investigated and prosecuted violations of the US antitrust laws. Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska represented the Department of Justice in numerous trials, both civil and criminal, in federal courts throughout the US. She led litigation teams of lawyers, investigators, economists and industry experts.
Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska worked as the general counsel and vice president of a leading national media company as well as the chief operating officer of a Polish program provider.
Her list of clients over the years has included a wide range of European, US and Chinese-based corporations and associations. She has forged strong working relationships with international and national law firms.
A recent achievement is a case that Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska overlooked for the past six years. In December 2019, the Competition Court issued a judgement annulling the Polish Competition Authority’s RPM decision against a client despite the testimony of a leniency witness. The outcome of the case is even more significant as it is rare for a defendant to prevail in a case in which a leniency witness testified.
