Work Highlights
1. Having resolved an issue relating to the subjection of mining companies to environmental taxes. The taxation of mining companies had resulted in thousands of dollars. Following a notice given to our client, the environmental tax was removed from mining companies until 2018, the year when the Mining Code was amended by imposing this tax on mining companies.
2.Resolved a claim of over $4 million to a shipping company client. This complaint resulted from a misreading of the maritime law that the administration applied to ships flying foreign flags. The demonstration of the non-application of fees on sea bills to foreign ships prevailed for the claim to be removed from my client.
3. Support for companies in guaranteeing loans from borrowers. Several loans were covered by various guarantees: pledge of business assets, shares, contracts, etc.
4. Support for companies in obtaining loans from lenders. Several loans of thousands of dollars have been obtained by clients in the development of their investments in the DRC.
