Practice Areas

David deals with all types of family law work including complex matrimonial finance (which often involves substantial assets or has an overseas element or trust interests) and provision for unmarried parents. His case load also involves pre-and post-nuptial agreements for individuals from all walks of life with a focus on sports personalities and their families.

He also has experience of complex private children matters with a keen interest in domestic and international relocation (both resisting applications and making them).

His practice also involves property disputes upon the end of cohabiting relationships and an interest in cases involving allegations of controlling and coercive behaviour against another party.

He is a mediator in respect of both financial and child arrangements issues. He is also a collaborative lawyer.

David is also a member of Resolution’s Innovation Committee and mentoring scheme. He also advises at the Peckham Citizens’ Advice Bureau.

Publications

He has written for several industry publications including the Financial Remedies Journal and the Resolution Review and provided comment for the national press on topical family law issues. He is the editor of the Burgess Mee insights section of our website.

Experience

David has been practising since 2005 and promoted to the partnership at Burgess Mee in 2019. Prior to joining Burgess Mee, he was the head of family at a mid-sized City practice between 2010 and 2015.
