David Johansson

Practice Areas

David Johansson is Head of Insurance at DLA Piper in Sweden and mainly focuses on insurance and dispute resolution. He has extensive domestic and international dispute resolution experience and has represented clients in both ad hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings, with a focus on arbitrations under the auspices of the SCC. As well as arbitration, he has dealt with disputes in all instances of the Swedish courts for civil procedure, including the Supreme Court.

David has handled matters in a range of industry sectors, with a focus on financial services, energy and construction. He also advises clients on contentious insurance and reinsurance issues. He is specialized in non-life insurance and his experience includes advising on general liability, business interruption, cyber, property, building and construction, professional indemnity and D&O insurance.

David also handles non-contentious insurance matters, such as drafting of policy wordings, localizing foreign insurance policies to the Swedish market and advising on licensing requirements for foreign insurers. David's experience includes handling assignments as coverage- and monitoring counsel for foreign insurers.
