David’s practice focuses on municipal, land use planning, and expropriation law. He provides legal advice to municipalities, developers, businesses, and private individuals on a range of matters, including land use planning applications, appeals, and agreements under the Planning Act, municipal powers and procedures, expropriations, aggregate extraction proposals, infrastructure projects and environmental issues.
Career
As an advocate for his clients, David has appeared before a variety of administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Land Tribunal (formerly the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and Ontario Municipal Board), joint boards, committees of adjustment, municipal councils, and all levels of Ontario courts.
Professional Memberships
In addition to his law practice, David is a member of the Discipline Committee of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and teaches municipal law through the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.
Personal
Since 2022, David has had the honour of being selected by his peers to be ranked in the Best Lawyers in Canada, in the field of Expropriation Law & Municipal Law. He is also a member of The Canadian Bar Association, The Ontario Bar Association, and The Advocates Society.
