Daniel Walker is the Managing Partner of Bobila Walker Law Professional Corporation, a Toronto boutique litigation practice, and leads the firm's estate, trust and capacity litigation group. He practises in contentious estates and trusts, guardianship and capacity law, and cross-border succession disputes, with a distinct sub-practice in Hague Convention international child abduction.
Daniel acts for beneficiaries, estate trustees, attorneys under powers of attorney, guardians of property and of the person, incapable persons, and family members in high-conflict estate and fiduciary disputes. His practice encompasses will challenges and will construction applications, passings of estate, attorney and guardian accounts, dependant support claims, beneficiary designation disputes, applications for guardianship under the Substitute Decisions Act, 1992, power of attorney abuse and financial exploitation claims, removal and replacement of fiduciaries, and proceedings before the Consent and Capacity Board.
He appears regularly on the Toronto Estates List and before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including on contested motions, applications, trials and case conferences, and has resolved a substantial volume of high-conflict matters through mediation and negotiated settlement. He is frequently retained on urgent and time-sensitive matters requiring injunctive or preservation relief.
A defining feature of Daniel's practice is its cross-border dimension. He is fluent in German and acts on Canadian-German and European estate, succession and trust matters in conjunction with co-counsel, including the enforcement of Ontario judgments and pecuniary legacies against foreign-resident parties, administration of estates with assets and beneficiaries in multiple jurisdictions, forced heirship and conflict of laws issues arising under German succession law, and the recovery of dormant and unclaimed cross-border accounts.
Daniel's recent work includes consolidated estate litigation raising novel questions on the construction and enforceability of conditional testamentary gifts, contested guardianship applications involving competing family members and Section 3 counsel, as well as multi-jurisdictional estate administrations with European-situate assets.
He is recognised in Chambers High Net Worth 2026 as Up and Coming for Private Wealth Disputes (Canada – Nationwide) and named to Post City Magazine's Top Lawyers list in 2025. He holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation through STEP Canada.
