Daniel Busse represents clients in particular in energy, corporate and infrastructure project disputes. He possesses many years of experience with proceedings under the rules of the DIS, ICC, ICSID, SIAC, LCIA and the Swiss Rules, in addition to many other arbitration rules.
Daniel Busse is the name partner of Busse Disputes and is one of the leading German experts on arbitration. He has experience with proceedings conducted under all major arbitration rules across a variety of industries and jurisdictions. Before founding Busse Disputes, Daniel Busse was a partner at leading international law firms for more than 14 years. He built the German dispute resolution practice group of a "Magic Circle" law firm and led the practice for more than eight years.
Daniel has or has had a variety of positions and functions within professional organisations. He served as an honorary professor at a German university, was a member of the Drafting Committee that revised the DIS Arbitration Rules, and served on the IBA Task Force to review the IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence in International Arbitration (adopted in December 2020). He is currently a member of the International Advisory Board of VIAC and also serves on similar bodies.
