Cynthia de Witt Wijnen specialises in advising international property clients on commercial transactions involving hotels, offices, retail centres, and logistics hubs. She plays a key role in major transactions within the Dutch property market, including the EUR 566 million acquisition of BOOKING.COM’s HQ, the EURO 180 million purchase of Amsterdam’s Terrace Tower, and a EUR 245+ million logistics portfolio acquisition for HansaInvest. She also advised among others on the EUR 260 million purchase of a luxury five-star hotel in Amsterdam.
Representing leading institutional investors, government bodies, developers, sovereign wealth funds, and family investment firms, Cynthia de Witt Wijnen is valued for her exceptional negotiation skills, deep real estate expertise, and commercial acumen.
Prior to co-founding NewGround Law, Cynthia was partner at Baker & McKenzie. She also worked for a women’s rights organization with the United Nations in New York. Cynthia started her career in 1993 with De Brauw. In 2015, she was sworn in as an assigned civil-law notary by the District Court of Amsterdam. In August 2020, Cynthia was sworn in as a civil-law notary.
