Cristián Bay-Schmith has over 20 years of experience in the tax field, both in law firms and auditing firms. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in many aspects of tax law, including family planning, international restructuring, taxpayer defense, and advising both national and foreign companies.
In 2021, he founded Bay-Schmith Abogados, seeking to create a specialized office format that would allow him to have a much closer and more direct relationship with clients. Before founding Bay-Schmith Abogados, he was a partner at the Prieto firm (2012-2021) and worked at PwC Chile (2005-2011).
He is currently a Professor of Tax Law at the University of Los Andes, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, director of the Chilean branch of the IFA (International Fiscal Association)
