Dr. Schmitz represents and advises individuals and companies in a wide range of complex white-collar and tax criminal proceedings. A positive outcome can often be reached at an early stage through a proactive, consistent defense strategy with appropriate communication. Dr. Schmitz has also proven his skills in the courtroom in a number of criminal trials. He has defended clients in some of the most significant criminal proceedings in Germany (e.g. Wirecard, auto emissions affairs, cum/ex, the RBB scandal), and advises corporations, law firms, and associations on all questions of criminal law with his team.

Career

Dr. Christian Schmitz is a certified specialist lawyer in criminal law and a partner of the firm. The focus of his work is white-collar criminal law and criminal tax law Dr. Schmitz received his doctoral degree with a thesis on criminal proceedings from the University of Cologne. There he led criminal law seminars and lectures. His legal clerkship was followed by a training post in a criminal law firm in the United States.
