Practice Areas
As the founder of the Family Law department at Fenton Elliott Solicitors, Chris has experience in all key areas of private practice Family Law, including:
* Divorce
* Financial Remedy matters - from modest assets through to high net worth cases with complex business interests and international assets running to numerous tens of millions of pounds.
* Child Arrangements matters - with a particular expertise in dealing with the additional issues that arise with neuro-diverse children and when one parent displays narcissistic personality traits.
* Domestic Abuse Injunctions - Both applying for and responding to emergency protective orders;
* International Child Abduction Matters - Chris is one of the few lawyers outside of the larger central London firms to have successfully defended a summary return of child under the Hague Convention.
Career
Chris has worked exclusively in Family Law since leaving Law School in 2010, having worked through his career for numerous large multi-disciplinary firms across Berkshire, Surrey and London before spending more than 10 years in niche Family Law firms honing his craft and experience on ever increasingly more complex and high net worth matters.
Chris originally trained as a Barrister and was called to the Bar in 2010. He remains a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn. He brings his advocacy experience to the benefit of his clients and it provides him with a unique selling point over many of his solicitor peers who have chosen not to utilise their advocacy skills; it also gives him an outcome focused approach to his cases and the advice he gives his clients.
Professional Memberships
Chris is a member of Resolution and previously sat on the regional committee of the organisation in Berkshire/Buckinghamshire for numerous years. He is passionate about abiding by the Resolution code of conduct whilst also giving his client's straight talking, no-nonsense robust advice that progresses rather than prolongs their matters.
Chris has sat on the committee of the Thames Valley Family Lawyers Society since 2021 and has been elected to sit as the Vice-Chairman of the organisation from 2025. This organisation represents the interests of the Family Lawyers in the Thames Valley and organises numerous social and professional development events for its members throughout the year.
Personal
Away from his practice Chris is married and has 3 daughters between the ages of 3 and 18 and has personal experience of handling neuro-diversity in his household.
