Chloe Burnett SC practices in commercial and public law, with a specialisation in tax law. She appeared in the SingTel and Chevron transfer pricing cases, the Uber payroll tax case, the News Australia Holdings and Citigroup Part IVA cases and other significant proceedings. Chloe was called to the Bar in 2008 and took silk in 2020. She was previously a solicitor at Allens and worked as an Associate to the Hon. Justice Edmonds of the Federal Court. She also worked for Macquarie Bank in Sydney and Slaughter and May in London. Chloe’s undergraduate studies (BCom/LLB Hons I) were at Sydney University and she has a LLM from New York University. She was awarded the highest mark in her Bar Exam cohort. She has completed the Keble College Advanced Advocacy Course, and coached advocacy in expert evidence programs. Chloe is the Vice-President of the Australian branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and in 2018-2020 chaired the Recent Developments Seminar at the global IFA Congress. Since 2006 she has lectured in the LLM program at The Sydney University, where she currently teaches Statutory Interpretation on an adjunct basis.
