With more than 28 years of professional experience, Catherine has distinguished herself as a litigator, in the public sector as a public criminal defense attorney and in the private sector in various high-profile cases, starting with the defense of the owners of the San José Mine in the case of the 33 miners, and continuing with the defense of Manuel Cruzat, one of the most influential men of the 1980s and beyond.

Personal
Although her origins in the profession date back to 1991, when she was already working as a legal assistant, after a period of working independently, she decided to return to the University of Chile to study the new regulation to the criminal justice system. She then spent five years working as a public defender, a role she left to join Juan Agustin Figueroa's law firm as a partner at the age of just 40. Finally, after some adjustments and at the age of 45, she decided to strike out on her own, forming Lathrop Blanco Abogados, a firm where she built a solid team with younger lawyers, which has grown and consolidated its position in the market. Today, under the brand name Lathrop Blanco Goldbaum, the firm has six lawyers and three partners.
