Catherine is an experienced Solicitor in the business crime and regulatory department at JMW. She specialises in police misconduct, representing officers in criminal and misconduct proceedings and representing the Police Federation at Post Incident Procedures. Catherine also represents clients at the initial stages of criminal proceedings and is accredited to represent individuals at their police station interviews.
Catherine has an extensive background in criminal defence with experience in various offences such as murder, serious sexual assault, and fraud. Most notably, she was a key member David Duckenfield’s defence team, a Police Commander at the Hillsborough Disaster. Additionally, she regularly defends criminal and regulatory investigations brought by the General Medical Council, the Health and Safety Executive and Trading Standards. Catherine has gained her Higher Rights of Audience allowing her to act as Solicitor-Advocate for clients in the High Courts.
Catherine is a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers; Women in Criminal Law North West; the SAHCA (Solicitors Association of Higher Courts Advocates) and the Manchester Law Society.
