Career

Catalina Márquez Jaramillo is the cofounder of De Guzmán Márquez Abogados and the Head of the Tax Law and Tax Litigation Practices. She advises clients on tax planning and structuring on a Colombian and international level, corporate reorganizations, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer-pricing. She also acts as a permanent advisor for businesses that want to continuously assess the tax effects of their daily operations. Additionally,

Catalina advises companies and high net worth individuals and families on private wealth and tax planning. In her experience, tax advise should not only be provided from a theoretical point of view, but also from a practical perspective, meaning how tax impacts clients on a quantitative and business standpoint.

She has also been a Professor in postgraduate tax law courses focused in different industries at Universidad de los Andes and Universidad Javeriana.
