Carsten Bödecker

His work is focused on advising in relation to the structuring, establishment, marketing, and operation of investment funds and investment products.

Dr. Carsten Bödecker started his professional career as a lawyer in 1995 with Deloitte. He qualified as a certified tax advisor in 1999. After his secondment to the Banking and Securities division of Deloitte New York, he became a Partner in 2002 and headed the Financial Services Tax & Regulatory department of Deloitte Düsseldorf. In 2009 he went to Luther Law Firm where he was instrumental in building their Luxembourg practice. He was admitted as Rechts­an­walt to the Luxem­bourg Bar in 2010. Since 2011 he has been a partner with Bödecker Ernst & Partner. From 2008 to 2018, he was a lec­turer in inter­national tax law at the Uni­versity of Osna­brück.

In 2015 he was appoin­ted for three years to the INREV Tax Committee (Euro­pean Asso­ciation for In­vestors in Non-Listed Real Estate Ve­hicles) and he is member of the Real Estate Funds Strategy Committee at the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI). He is 2. Chairman of the Forum Kapitalmarktinstrumente – Kapitalmarktfinanzierung e.V..

He is author and (co-)editor of numerous professional publications in particular on investment law and investment taxation as well as on the Double Taxation Treaty between Luxembourg and Germany.
