Can Sözer is the partner leading the IP and Technology (IPTech) practice group, International Commercial and Trade practice group and Healthcare industry group at Esin Attorney Partnership, member firm of Baker & McKenzie International, a Swiss Verein. His main areas of practice are data privacy, healthcare law, IT/C law, consumer protection law, commercial law, contracts law, marketing law, regulatory, environmental law, copyright, media & entertainment law and product liability law.

He regularly advises international and domestic technology, internet and media companies and provides data protection, telecommunications and e-commerce advice to clients from a wide variety of sectors. With an extensive background in IP, M&A, Healthcare and Life Sciences as well as International Commercial & Trade, Can Sözer is able to advise his IT/C clients in a wide range of areas. He has been awarded as "Regulatory Rising Star EMEA" in LMG Life Sciences EMEA Awards 2022. He served as a Chair in IAPP KnowledgeNet Istanbul Chapter between 2022-2024 amongst top data privacy lawyers in Türkiye.

Can Sözer is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Digital Economy Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Committee of AmCham Türkiye, as well as working groups of Turkish Industry and Business Association(TUSIAD) and German-Turkish Chamber of Trade and Industry (AHK).

Can Sözer has been speaking as a trusted expert at a significant number of conferences and seminars on IT/C related issues, as well as publishing articles in reputable local and international publications. His articles were published in OneTrust Data Guidance, Harvard Business Review, Bloomberg BNA World Data Protection Report, Cyberspace Lawyer, Mondaq, Lexology, Turkish Law Blog and Practical Law Global Guide, among others. He has beenselected as "Thought Leader" for Spring 2022, Spring 2023 and Autumn 2023 by Mondaq.

He is a leading member of Diversity & Inclusion Committee of Esin Attorney Partnership, working actively in the fields of Gender, LGBT+, Disability and Ethnicity & Culture and he is actively involved in social responsibility projects. He has been awarded as "Global Changemaker of the Year " in Stonewall 2023 Global Equality Index, shortlisted as "Diversity Role Model of the Year" for Türkiye in 2023 Euro-Asian Startup Awards and "Diversity & Inclusion: Outstanding Contribution" in Chambers Europe Awards 2023.
