Brad Roach is a Partner of K&L Gates’ Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources practice and has been based in Singapore for over 25 years. He is recognised for his extensive industry knowledge in Southeast Asia and his negotiation skills. He has a market-leading M&A practice and has advised on acquisition and divestment transactions with an aggregate value of over US$10 billion. He advises on the exploration, appraisal, development, and operation of oil and gas, LNG, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects and is he is currently advising on the development of several major hydrocarbon discoveries in Asia. He has extensive experience advising companies on joint venture and shareholder agreements, feedstock, gas and LNG sale and purchase agreements, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, production sharing contracts, FPSO/FSO charter agreements, unitization agreements, and abandonment and decommissioning agreements.
He advised Chevron New Energies on its joint venture arrangements with PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk. in relation to the Way Ratai geothermal area in Indonesia, and advised Murphy Oil on the US$2.127 billion divestment of its Malaysian operations to PTTEP, which is the largest upstream M&A transaction in Southeast Asia in the past 9 years.
