Björn Seitz is a Partner at BLD and heads the Financial and Professional Lines department together with his colleague Bastian Finkel. He is also Managing Partner.

Björn has a network of international and national clients, advising and representing insurers or Directors/Officers on a host of cases, most recently the defense of former board members of a German public bank, cases in Germany around the Volkswagen Diesel-emission scandal, anti-trust issues, insolvencies and in connection with the GDPR and cyber claims in general. He tends to focus most of his attention on Financial Lines with an emphasis on D&O liability and insurance, of which he has published a reference book and lectured. Björn devotes much of his time to dealing with cases of liability with regard to professional liability, cyber losses, crime policies and event cancelation. Due to his profound knowledge of IT network technology and IT infrastructures, he can quickly grasp and assess not only the legal but also the technical facts in cyber cases. In connection with the Corona-pandemic he handles a lot of cases regarding event cancelation and also published a reference book regarding contingency insurance.
