Bjørn-Erik has more than 35 years of experience in private practice and as a senior civil servant with a special focus on the energy sectors, infrastructure and public service functions. He regularly advises private- and public enterprises, Norwegian and foreign regulatory authorities, national- and international interest organizations, on natural resource- and energy law, contract and transactions, administrative law and public international law, including double taxation treaties.
Bjørn-Erik has particular experience with the offshore petroleum and renewable regulatory regime and contracts on the Norwegian continental shelf and in several foreign jurisdictions. He assists in the development and implementation of legislation and contracts for developing, financing and operating energy projects, including complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional projects, and with legal issues at the intersection between coastal- and flag state regimes. He also regularly advises on energy and technology-related M&A, EU energy regulation, Law of the Sea and treaty negotiations.
