Mr Spiewak specialises in law, regulation and legislative policy affecting IP-driven, technology, R&D-intensive and highly regulated industries. He is admitted to practise law in Brazil and obtained his LLB from Mackenzie Presbyterian University Law School, Sao Paulo. Mr Spiewak is certified in IP and technology law by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, Sao Paulo and by the Franklin Pierce Law Centre, New Hampshire. He obtained his LLM in IP law, with a focus on food and drug law, from the George Washington University. In 2007 he was the Brazilian representative at the World Intellectual Property Organisation Academy (WIPO) in Geneva. In 2009 he was a foreign associate with the Intellectual Property and Policy Office of the Biotechnology Innovation Organisation, Washington DC. Mr Spiewak acts as assistant professor of technology law and intellectual property at the Continuing Education School of the Brazilian Bar Association, Sao Paulo Section and at the WIPO Academy in Geneva. He is member of the editorial board and coordinator of healthcareof Latin America’s leading anti-corruption publication Legal, Ethics and Compliance. Mr Spiewak is a board member and executive director of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association and an international member of both the American Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
