Practice Areas

Wide civil and commercial practice but with particular specialism in insurance disputes and all aspects of the law relating to solicitors, litigation funding and claims management, including professional liability, regulation and discipline and all issues of costs. Work is evenly split between contentious and non-contentious and includes extensive contractual drafting experience, especially in the context of insurance, solicitors’ retainers (including specialist retainers such as DBAs) and consumer contracts. Also specialises in the law of consumer protection and civil procedure. Has particular experience of group, representative and class actions, both in the courts and the CAT.

Career

Called to the Bar in 1994, and has been in full time private practice in London since 2000. Appointed QC in 2015. Called to the Bar of the BVI in 2016.

Former member of editorial boards of (i) the White Book; (ii) Cordery on Legal Services; and (ii) Wilmot-Smith on Construction Contracts. Regular lecturer in key practice areas.
