Ben is a QC specialising in construction and professional negligence at Four New Square. He was called to be Bar of England and Wales in 1986 and became a QC in 2010. He is also called to the Bar in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Ben is the co-author of Professional Negligence in Construction [Routledge] and the co-editor of the Construction Professionals Chapter in Jackson & Powell on Professional Liability [Sweet & Maxwell]. He is a member of the Technology and Construction Bar Association and the Society of Construction Law. Ben has very extensive experience of acting both for and against design and build contractors, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers. He is particularly experienced in engineering disputes in respect of projects such as airports, industrial centres and office developments. He appears regularly in cases involving construction professionals in Arbitrations and in the Technology and Construction Court. He has considerable experience of contractors insurance policies and construction professional indemnity insurance issues. In addition to appearing as an advocate he is an accredited mediator.
