Practice Areas

Ben is the head of Freshfields’ public international law practice and a partner in the international arbitration group. He serves as counsel for states and corporations before international courts and tribunals in cases concerning issues of public international law (including sovereignty over territory and boundary delimitation), protection of foreign investments (appearing both for claimant investors and for respondent states) and a wide range of commercial disputes (including concerning energy and natural resources). He is Queen’s Counsel in England and Wales, holds a doctorate in law from the University of Oxford, and is a national of Australia and France.
