In his 28 years of trial practice, Barrett Reasoner’s cases have spanned an array of areas, including securities, oil and gas, construction, environmental, and intellectual property. Barrett is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and The International Society of Barristers. Upon graduation from law school, Barrett was an Assistant District Attorney for Harris County (Houston), Texas. He joined Gibbs & Bruns in 1992 and became a partner in 1996.
Barrett is the immediate past-chair of the Houston Bar Foundation. He served as a Representative for District 4 on the State Bar of Texas' Board of Directors and is a former President of the Houston Bar Association. Barrett was the former Chairman of the Board of Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and served on its Board of Directors. He is a past member of the American Judicature Society and served on its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Barrett is a Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation. Barrett is on The University of Texas Law School Foundation Board of Trustees and is a former member of The University of Texas School of Law Alumni Association Executive Committee.
