Balihar Khalsa

Balihar Khalsa is a strategic communications leader who has successfully leveraged more than a decade of journalism experience to build a high impact career in corporate communications.

She has served in-house as a communications advisor to the trade unions Prospect and Bectu, and for the past five years has worked at ITN — the UK’s largest production company and home to ITV News, Channel 4 News and 5 News — across corporate communications, public affairs, policy and, most recently, as an AI lead. In 2025 she was interim Director of Corporate Communications for the organisation.

Her communications experience spans handling issues subject to editorial and parliamentary scrutiny, corporate matters of political interest, and complex industrial relations involving a diverse range of employers across aviation, broadcasting, heritage and energy sectors. She has also managed sensitive employee relations challenges from an in-house perspective.

Balihar’s background in journalism, first as a trade reporter at Broadcast magazine, then as a current affairs TV producer after being selected by Channel 4 for a talent scheme, is central to her communications approach.
