Career

Arief joined Lexence in 2023, and has been a civil law notary in Amsterdam since 2011. He holds an LL.M. in notarial law (1998) and a degree in civil law from the Free University in Amsterdam. He also studied at the Sorbonne Pantheon Paris I (1997).

Professional Memberships

Arief was chair of the association of civil law notaries in Amsterdam. He previously lectured at the university of Utrecht and the Amsterdam School of real estate. Currently he teaches “Civil law in practise” at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He provided for the SdU edition commentary to the Dutch civil code the chapters on title 5.6 (easements) and 5.9 (condominium rights). Arief is included in the list of “10 influential real estate notaries shaping Netherlands property Sector” of Business Today News (July 9-2023).
