Antonio is one of the most prominent Competition Law practitioners in Spain and he is widely recognized by clients and peers.

With 30 years of experience in this field, Antonio handles all types of competition (both cartels and verticals) cases and merger control proceedings both before the European Commission and the Spanish Competition Authority (Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia or CNMC).

By way of example, he played a key role advising Talgo on its intervention on the merger control proceedings of the European Commission in the Siemens/Alstom case, which was ultimately prohibited by the Commission.

Antonio has also a deep knowledge of the enforcement of competition rules in the tobacco industry, pharma industry, the food and beverages industry, the retail sector or the management of intellectual property rights, among others.

He is also one of the leading lawyers in Spain regarding damages claims for competition law infringements.

Antonio is an active speaker in specialized and academic for a such as, among others, IE Law School, CEFI or University Carlos III in Madrid.
