Anna Maria Stein

Anna Maria is a Partner based in Milan, UPC representative. She has been equity Partner at Franzosi Dal Negro Setti, IP Department, working long-time with Professor Mario Franzosi (being mentioned in Chambers within that IP Department) and practices IP from almost 26years. Due to her long-time experience, she focuses on litigations of all IP matters, especially in complex patent cases including the multi-jurisdictional disputes, as well as in trademarks, domain names, designs, copyright. She has been representing multinational Pharmaceutical and Telecommunications Companies before the civil courts and Antitrust Agencies.

In the recent years she has gained a significant experience advising clients in the aerospace technology sector, particularly on litigations, structuring and negotiating intellectual property rights, technology transfer agreements, licensing arrangements and investment transactions. She represents clients in complex cases on Trade Secrets, Software unfair competition issues. She is particularly appreciated for the ability to set up a most efficient and sometimes unconventional litigation strategy.

She assists clients also in day-to-day IP-related matters as wells as in the management of IP Portfolios and in M&A deals

The industry sectors in which she operates are mechanical/electronical, pharmaceutical, medical devices, telecommunication, chemical industry, fashion, furniture and industrial design.

Expertise in assisting SMEs in projects development and financing for IP. She is a selected IP Expert at the European Commission (EISMEA and DG Grow).

She is Board Member of the Executive Committee of LES Italy (Licensing Executive Society) and appointed as International Delegate, member of LES International Copyright Licensing Committee and LES International Trademarks, Designs and Merchandising Committee.

She is member of AIPPI (member of the International Standing Committee on Genetic Resources and Traditional Knowledge of the Italian Copyright Group) (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).

She is Member of the Intellectual Property and Antitrust Commission of the Italian Milan Bar Association.
