Angus M. Gunn K.C. is a seasoned and versatile advocate who provides strategic counsel and highly experienced representation to Canadian and international clients. His commercial disputes practice emphasizes appellate advocacy, arbitration proceedings, public and administrative law matters, and other corporate commercial disputes.
Angus has well over 100 appearances in the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, as well as appearances in the Supreme Court of Canada and Canadian superior appellate courts. He also represents clients in arbitral and administrative tribunal proceedings, and serves as counsel and neutral in arbitration and mediation matters. He co-chairs the Arbitration Advisory Group established by the Attorney General of British Columbia.
Angus has lectured for two decades at the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law. Students have selected him three times for the Adam Albright Memorial Award, which recognizes teaching excellence. In 2016, he received the Canadian National Pro Bono Distinguished Service Award in recognition of community contributions over many years. He presents regularly to organizations including the ADR Institute of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia. Since 2004 he has been an Honorary Overseas Member of the Commercial Bar Association (COMBAR).
