Angus Finnegan

Angus is a commercial lawyer focused on the technology and telecommunications industries. He advises on a broad range of transactions in this space, as well as telecoms regulatory issues.

He has particular expertise in mobile communications and has worked with leading brands including Vodafone, Sky, EE, Talk Talk, Zain and OTE.

His work on technology projects spans numerous industries, with particular focus on fintech.

Angus has over 30 years' experience of working in the technology and communications sectors. Having started his career as in-house counsel at BT, he became a partner in private practice in 2000 and has held numerous leadership roles in London and Silicon Valley for Osborne Clarke, Reed Smith and Taylor Wessing.

In 2000, Angus launched and ran Osborne Clarke's Silicon Valley office which was then the first European firm to enter the US technology heartland. On his return to London, Angus took on the leadership of the firm's telecoms sector and managed the London technology and telecoms commercial team.

After 20 years as a partner at Osborne Clarke, Angus went on to take on telecoms leadership partner roles at Reed Smith and Taylor Wessing.

Having identified an opportunity for specialist boutique firms focused on the TMT sectors, Angus launched ALC in 2020. The firm is focused on commercial and regulatory work.

Angus enjoys an outdoors lifestyle, whether at home with his wife (Nadine) and dogs in the Cotswolds, by the coast or in the mountains. He's a passionate sailor and often spends his summer weekends cruising the South Coast. He's an equally passionate skiier and is particularly drawn to the Austrian mountains.
