Andreas Merkner is a partner at GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in the CORPORATE practice.
Andreas Merkner specialises in advising German listed stock corporations in the areas of corporate, company groups and capital markets law. He advises, in particular, companies on the preparation and implementation of structural measures under stock corporation law and transformation law. Finally, he also focuses on advising on the structuring and supervision of national and international M&A transactions and takeovers. Andreas Merkner is the author of a large number of publications in the field of corporate and capital markets law and is regularly invited as a speaker on these topics.
Career
Andreas Merkner studied law at the Julius-Maximilian University in Würzburg and at the University of Geneva. He earned a doctorate in law from the Julius-Maximilian University in Würzburg in 2000/2001 under the supervision of Prof Karl Kreuzer. Before joining GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in April 2012, he had worked as a lawyer since 2001 and had been a partner in the international law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP since 2009.
