Career
André specializes in civil litigation and both local and international arbitration, focusing on corporate, commercial, and infrastructure disputes (including energy, oil and gas, construction, and regulatory matters). In 2013, he served on a Senate commission to reform Brazil's Arbitration Law and draft the country’s Mediation Law. André previously coordinated Pontifical Catholic University's (PUC-RJ) Commercial Arbitration and Consensual Dispute Resolution Methods postgraduate program (Arbitragem Comercial e Métodos Consensuais de Solução de Conflitos), also teaching undergraduate law courses on arbitration, bankruptcy, and judicial restructuring. André is vastly experienced in insolvency and debt recovery matters. He previously served as an officer at the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) between 2018 and 2021, as a board member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) between 2020 and 2024, and was also an associate at Baker Botts LLP in Washington, DC, in 2006. André is currently a board member of the CBAr.
