Career

Amit Lederman is a partner in our firm, heading the Insolvency, debt settlement, restructuring and Corporate Rehabilitation Department.

Amit has two decades of experience in counselling and accompanying companies during insolvency proceedings, formulating and executing debt settlements, managing, and operating companies in rehabilitation and receivership as well as conducting complex litigation proceedings relating to companies in crisis.

The team under his management is among the leading teams in Israel for handling insolvency proceedings, of the largest and most complex in the country, with emphasis on corporate rehabilitation.

Amit is regularly appointed by various district courts as officer for companies and corporations under insolvency and settlement proceedings, including infrastructure, retail, real estate, communication, commercial and industrial companies. Amit is also appointed as mediator on behalf of the court on complex disputes related to insolvency, as well as commercial disputes.

Amit and his team cooperate with an economic-managerial team to handle cases from all angles, combining legal, economic, accounting and management aspects.

Amit has extensive experience in rehabilitating companies, including formulating debt settlements outside of court, with far reaching expertise in counselling financial entities that provided credit to companies in difficulty, as well as in representing creditors in insolvency proceedings and investors interested in purchasing companies under debt settlement.

Amit is an expert at complex commercial litigation and in accompanying real estate ventures, and has extensive experience in court appearances in Israel, including the Supreme Court.

Work Highlights

Over recent years Amit has led and participated in a series of complex cases and claims including:

Accompanying a large transport and logistics company in raising credit and sales transactions.

Appointment as settlement manager for a large communications company in a very intensive case, involving prominent business entities in the sector, successfully consolidating a settlement.

Representing a group of real estate companies and their shareholders on a complex proceeding to consolidate a debt settlement, creating a precedent regarding the application of Amendment 4 to the Insolvency Law in situations where the owing company’s difficulties were not necessarily caused by the Covid crises.

Formulation of a debt settlement, mainly with bond holders of an investment company, totalling 250 million shekels.

Appointment as trustee on a stay of procedures case while de-facto managing a large real estate company, also consolidating a debt settlement under extremely complex circumstances.

Appointment as receiver to a public holdings company including filing claims against directors.

Representation of a large bank since 2004 on a variety of cases requiring complex collection proceedings of large-scale debt.
