Senior Partner Adv. Amir Cohen-Dor is the Managing Partner of the Haifa Branch of S. Friedman & Co. and heads the firm's Maritime, Aviation and Transportation Department.
Amir has expertise in all fields of Maritime Law: cargo claims, marine injury claims and casualties, marine liability and insurance and related matters, such as ongoing legal advice on all aspects of vessels' collisions, civil and criminal law claims regarding sea pollution, pilotage claims, enforcement of maritime liens, including vessel mortgages, of creditors and claimants against vessels and protection of vessels from such claims, G.A. and salvage claims, limitation of liability of ship owners, drafting of charter parties (bareboat, time and voyage), joint ventures and consortia agreements between shipping companies and representation of ship agents, forwarders and customs brokers in diverse maritime issues.
Amir is a permanent member of the Seaman's Disciplinary Tribunal of the Israeli Ministry of Transport and presides as the Vice President of the Israel Maritime Law Association and is a member of the Committee Maritime International (CMI).
Amir is experienced in the representation of clients before the Admiralty Court in Haifa and regularly manages arbitration heard before the London Maritime Arbitrators Association of which he is a member.
