Alison trained with Edinburgh-based top-tier commercial law firm W & J Burness (now known as Burness Paull) before moving to St. Andrews to gain post-qualifying experience, primarily in all areas of property law.
In 1997 Alison emigrated to the Falkland Islands and spent 16 years working in the Attorney General’s Chambers of the Falkland Islands Government where she gained wide-ranging experience across all areas of government operations, including direct exposure to the hydrocarbons industry, culminating in 3 years as the prosecutor for the Falkland Islands.
In 2013 Alison became Associate-in-Charge of the Stanley office of London-based international law firm Pinsent Masons. In 2022, with colleague Stirling Harcus, Alison founded Waverley Law as a full-service law firm with a strong focus on commercial, corporate and property work.
With 16 years working as Counsel for the Falkland Islands Government and over a decade spent practising law in the emerging Falklands’ private sector, Alison has unrivalled breadth and depth of knowledge of Falklands law and practice.
