Ali Boroumand

Ali Boroumand is a corporate finance lawyer, based in Paris. With a legal career that began in 1999, Ali has honed his expertise in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, and joint ventures. His focus lies particularly on industrial and mining projects across Sub-Saharan and North Africa, regions where he frequently travels and offers unparalleled on-the-ground insights.

Ali's deep knowledge of African markets has positioned him as a trusted advisor to multinational corporations, international financial institutions, governments and junior companies which he assisted in French speaking jurisdictions with a strong mining sector such as DRC, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Cameroon and Mauritania.

Prior to founding Xtractive Lex, Ali was a partner at DWF where he headed the mining and mineral practice and before that at Heenan Blaikie and Norton Rose Fulbright where he developed his expertise in the extractive industry and on the African continent.
