Alex MacFarlane

Alex MacFarlane is a partner at BLG and National Co-Chair of the Insolvency and Restructuring Group. He specializes in cross-border restructurings and insolvencies, including financial institutional insolvencies. He routinely acts for debtor corporations, financial institutions, creditors’ committees, court appointed liquidators, receivers and monitors, and trustees in bankruptcy. Most recently, Alex acted as lead counsel to Universal City Development Partners, Ltd and Universal Studios Licensing LLC in the Cirque du Soleil and al. CCAA Proceedings, to Ernst & Young Inc. in its capacity as court appointed monitor of PharmHouse Inc., a cannabis cultivator and producer and has also acted for GNC Holdings Inc. Canadian counsel to the U.S. Creditors Committee appointed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Proceedings of GNC Holdings.
