Experience

Between 2002 and 2012, he worked in the Servicio de Impuestos Internos (Chilean Internal Revenue Service) as an advisory lawyer in the Dirección de Grandes Contribuyentes (Large Taxpayers Directorate), in the Subdirección de Fiscalización (Supervision Subdirectorate) and as Jefe del Departamento de Impuestos Directos de la Subdirección Normativa (Head of the Direct Tax Department of the Regulatory Subdirectorate).

Between 2012 and 2014, he served as Managing Director in the Tax & Legal area of KMPG Chile.

Between 2014 and 2016, he was Coordinador de Política Tributaria (Tax Policy Coordinator) of the Ministerio de Hacienda de Chile (Chilean Ministry of the Treasure).

Alberto has vast experience in the design, application and interpretation of tax legislation in Chile. He was part of the team of Internal Revenue Service delegates to the OECD Fiscal Affairs Committee and the negotiating group for treaties to avoid international double taxation.
