Akshata has over 11 years of experience, with 8 years in the UAE. Starting a career in banking and finance with a leading law firm, Akshata gained a strong understanding of the banking and financial systems. Extensive work with FinTechs includes retail payment solutions, remittances, aggregators and acquirers, and digital wallets. Key contributions have been made in supporting new-age products like pay-later solutions and open banking products. In addition, Akshata has assisted regulators in drafting regulations and frameworks on open banking, working closely with Central Banks and financial regulators across the UAE and GCC to provide solutions for clients. Involvement in gaming projects includes addressing the intricacies of the UAE’s legal system, identifying fund flows and monetization models to ensure legal compliance. Additionally, Akshata has drafted policies on digital ID and e-KYC in the Arab region through involvement with the AMF and MENA Fintech Association

She has been awarded 'Fintech Lawyer of the Year' at Legal Era Middle East Awards and 30 under 30 top lawyers by Business World.
