Adam is a Group Head of McMillan LLP’s Complex Disputes and Regulatory Regime group and an experienced securities litigator. Adam has represented clients in complex disputes across industry sectors. His high-profile matters have ranged from those involving traditional industries (such as natural resources) to those involving cutting-edge technology (such as digital assets). Adam teaches Securities Litigation at Queen’s University and is a former member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee. He has been quoted in and authored opinion pieces in Canada’s national newspapers. He also appeared on Bloomberg News Network to discuss securities whistle-blower proceedings. Adam's securities litigation matters have ranged beyond Canada's borders and he has assisted clients as far away as Cyprus, Australia and Israel. He assists McMillan's clients with securities regulatory matters in other provinces, and represents clients in multi-jurisdictional matters, including those involving FINRA, the SEC and CFTC in the United States. Adam has acted on one of Canada’s most prominent securities fraud cases and has had trial success related to securities blackout periods and corporate executive and director responsibilities. Other prominent parts of Adam’s litigation practice involve his expertise in administrative law and intellectual property matters.
