Practice Areas

Adrian is a specialist in construction, engineering, energy, technology disputes and is highly regarded for his expertise in professional negligence and insurance actions within these specialist areas. His practice covers advisory work (including work concerning standard and bespoke contracts), drafting and advocacy, for which he is widely seen as a formidable opponent. He regularly appears in the TCC, and Court of Appeal, and in domestic and international arbitrations. He has represented clients in adjudications and mediations and is an adjudicator and arbitrator. Recent cases of interest include: Colas Ltd v TfL; HSM v Aker; McGee Group Ltd v Galliford Try Building Ltd; MT Hojgaard v EON Climate and Renewables; Richard Hough v Greathall Ltd.; West v Ian Finlay Associates; Galliford Try v Estura; Severfield v Duro; Harding v Paice.

Called to the Bar 1983; QC 2002; Recorder (Civil) 2004, (Crime) 2009; TECBAR accredited adjudicator, Deputy High Court Judge (2010); Completed PhD in economic history at Cambridge 2014 on "The Birth of Thatcherism".
