Abigail is a specialist in corporate restructuring and insolvency and advises a wide range of lenders in relation to their distressed borrowers, covering all aspects of enforcement strategy as well as financial and corporate restructurings.
She also has extensive experience in acting for insolvency officeholders, including the Official Receiver, in relation to their appointments and the trading and disposal of businesses and assets. She is a talented transactional lawyer having acted on a number of complex, cross-border assignments for insolvency practitioners at various national firms, and is noted for her technical ability and skill at driving multi-faceted transactions to completion.
Abigail also co-leads the Structured Finance and Loan Portfolio Transactions Team advising various financial institutions, including banks, specialist lenders and funds, in relation to a broad range of portfolio sales and acquisitions of both retail and commercial loan books, and has proved herself adept at leading large projects, co-ordinating advisers and teams across different disciplines and jurisdictions. She recently led the team acting for Newcastle Building Society on its merger with Manchester Building Society working closely with the PRA and FCA, and is one of the few lawyers in the country with recent experience of this statutory process.
