Trade Mark Clearance, Registration & Coordination Work:

WJNT co-ordinates trademark filings for many Fortune 500 corporations including Aeon Co Ltd, a Japanese corporation and KRR International Corp. for the Kenny Rogers trade marks in various countries throughout the world. WJNT assists various multinationals in respect of the clearance, filing, prosecution, opposition and/ or maintenance of their trade mark portfolios in Malaysia.

Brand Protection & Enforcement of IPRs:
WJNT represents many multinational corporations in the enforcement of their IPR. WJNT develops holistic and strategic enforcement programs for clients, based on their corporate goals, targets and objectives. WJNT implements cease and desist letter programs for many famous brand-owners and has achieved good recoveries. WJNT also coordinates raid actions through the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC).

IP Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
WJNT represents many multinationals in numerous litigations. WJNT provides assistance in formulating litigation strategies, pursuing interlocutory relief as well as conducting full trials. WJNT’s team members also represent many instructing solicitors as counsel in matters involving complex IPR issues in the appellate court. Some of the parties represented by WJNT in current ongoing litigation cases include YKL Engineering Sdn Bhd, Spind Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Victoria’s Secret Stores Brand Management, Inc., Elsoft Research Berhad and Warmal WIL Heavy Duty Pumps Sdn Bhd.

Apart from various government outreach and engagement programs,WJNT has conducted capacity building programs on behalf of various clients including Sony Interactive Entertainment, Inc., BMW AG, Shell & BP Group of Companies for various enforcement authorities including MDTCA and Customs.

Franchise Work & IPR Exploitation:
WJNT represents various clients in respect of their franchise matters in Malaysia including obtaining approval as foreign franchisors, registration of franchisors, master franchisees and franchisees under the Franchise Act 1998. WJNT also assists clients in drafting various types of agreements including licensing, franchising, manufacturing, outsourcing and distributorship agreements.

Information & Communication Technology:
WJNT advises clients in respect of issues arising out of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

E-Commerce, Cyber Laws & Digital Integrity:

WJNT assists clients in respect of their e-commerce issues in various countries in the ASEAN region.
