Arbitration & Litigation:

Westerberg & Partners has a strong focus on international arbitration, both commercial and investor-state. The team has unrivalled experience in representing companies and governments before the Swedish courts in actions to set aside arbitral awards. They recently defended two arbitral awards (worth 1,5 billion EUR and 500 million USD) against sovereign states and often do work on recognition and enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards. Further, the team also represents clients before the courts in commercial disputes including international trade, oil and gas, construction and infrastructure projects, IT and telecom, post M&A and other corporate disputes.

Insurance:

We assist in contentious and non-contentious matters of insurance and reinsurance. Our team has more than 30 years experience of assisting the insurance market in a multitude of complex coverage issues. We have acted as counsel for clients in the insurance market in a number of matters where judgement in favour of our clients have been obtained in landmark decisions handed down by the Swedish Supreme Court.

Media:

Westerberg & Partners' media team is one of the leading teams on the Swedish market. The team has significant experience in and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of media law, including copyright issues that are central to the various industries in the media sector, specific media legislation such as the Radio and TV Act, the Freedom of the Press Act and the Freedom of Expression Act, and the particular contract types within the core media industries such as film production contracts, book publishing agreements and music publishing and artists agreements. Regulatory & Life Sciences:

Westerberg has significant experience ingiving regulatory advice in many highlyregulatedindustries, including pharma, medical devices,gambling, alcoholic beverages, food, and tobacco, as well as in developing industries such as CBD. Recent work highlights include acting for several originator pharmaceutical companies in tri-party negotiations with the Swedish Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency regarding pricing of medicinal products, a major classification review for a medical device company regarding contacts with healthcare as well as negotiating and drafting contracts for a collaborative phase III clinical trial.We have also recently successfully handled a major case on geographical indications for spirits. We represent several large gambling companies in regulatory court cases of high principal value.
