About
Decades of practical experience supporting many of the world’s leading families and wealth creators.
THE FIRM: Stonehage Fleming is adviser to many of the world’s leading families and wealth creators. It manages and protects their wealth, often across several geographies and generations.
The firm is privileged to support its clients including the Fleming Family over several decades, in the process bringing together talented professionals to offer a range of skills and capabilities rarely found in one firm. Acting as a full service family office, or working in conjunction with other trusted advisers, it is able to draw on over 40 years of practical experience helping discerning clients address the challenges of creating and preserving wealth.
Stonehage Fleming's clients have entrusted the company with the management, fiduciary oversight and administration of in excess of US $170bn. Independently owned by management, staff and a publicly quoted family investment trust with a patient capital philosophy, the firm's goals are precisely aligned with those of the clients it serves.
Designed in direct response to the complex needs of clients, the services offered have two clear objectives: the protection of family wealth and management of family assets. The team has a rich array of in-house expertise but it also works closely with families’ existing advisers and a network of experienced professional partners, in particular lawyers, accountants and trustees. Stonehage Fleming's scale and market presence enables it to identify the best professional partners internationally. The optimal combination of internal and external advice based on client needs is delivered.
The firm's clients are often, or their prior generations have been, pioneers – industrialists, financiers, entrepreneurs. The brand has a strong affinity with those who have reconfigured a particular market or industry, or who have otherwise demonstrated excellence in their achievements (including sports people and athletes). The team is equally adept serving a fifth generation family as one that is in its first generation of wealth, whilst recognising that their needs in terms of advice, implementation and relationship management may have quite significant differences.
