Sequor Law, headquartered in Miami, is recognised as a leading international law firm with a specialised focus on asset recovery, cross-border insolvency, creditors' rights, and international litigation and arbitration. In 2024, the firm expanded its global footprint with the launch of its first satellite office in Washington, D.C., led by Partner Tara J. Plochocki.

Renowned for its work on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters, Sequor Law regularly handles disputes involving financial fraud, corruption, cross-border insolvency, matrimonial and probate fraud, restructuring, and more. Its client base includes liquidators, trustees, custodians, governments, state-owned entities, fellow insolvency professionals, and victims of sophisticated fraud schemes, with clients spanning the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond.

Strategically located in Miami—often referred to as the “Gateway to the Americas”—Sequor Law serves as a pivotal hub for managing high-stakes disputes arising from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. The firm has been involved in numerous landmark international fraud, bank fraud, and embezzlement cases filed in Florida. It also holds the distinction of employing the highest number of attorneys in Florida certified by The Florida Bar in International Litigation and Arbitration.

The firm’s Asset Recovery Group is widely respected for its ability to unravel intricate asset protection structures and pursue core wrongdoers. Its lawyers are adept at utilising 28 U.S.C. § 1782 for gathering evidence in foreign proceedings, and several are active members of CFAAR—the Crypto Fraud and Asset Recovery network. The asset recovery practice is co-chaired by Founding Shareholder Edward H. Davis, Jr. and Shareholder Arnoldo B. Lacayo, both of whom bring decades of expertise in global asset tracing and enforcement.

Sequor Law’s insolvency practice is led by Founding Shareholder Gregory S. Grossman, along with Shareholders Leyza B. Blanco and Fernando J. Menendez, Jr. The firm pioneered the first Chapter 15 cross-border insolvency filing in Florida under the UNCITRAL Model Law, and has since handled over ninety recognised Chapter 15 cases. These involve jurisdictions including Antigua, Argentina, Austria, the Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, the British Virgin Islands, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Romania, Turkey, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Gibraltar, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

To support its litigation and investigative strategies, Sequor Law employs a Director of Forensics and a Director of Investigations, offering in-house Phase I forensic and intelligence-gathering capabilities. The firm also collaborates with a global network of investigative experts to enhance its reach and precision.

Sequor Law’s leadership in asset recovery has earned ongoing recognition. Chambers and Partners has ranked both the firm and Edward H. Davis, Jr. in the Asset Recovery category since 2019. Who’s Who Legal named Sequor Law the Top Asset Recovery Firm for two consecutive years, with Davis recognised as the world’s leading individual in this field for four years running. Latinvex has consistently listed the firm among Latin America’s Top 100 Law Firms since 2018, and Global Restructuring Review has named Sequor Law one of the world’s Top 100 insolvency firms since the same year.

With a comprehensive and tailored approach to recovery, Sequor Law targets both tangible and hidden assets, leveraging creative third-party claims, civil and criminal coordination, and extensive jurisdictional knowledge across both common law and civil law systems. The firm remains at the forefront of international legal innovation and advocacy for victims of fraud across the globe.
