The firm’s bankruptcy and insolvency group is comprised of leading bankruptcy, restructuring and insolvency professionals with combined decades of experience at one of the largest law firms in Puerto Rico. Its lawyers have been involved, throughout their respective careers, in the more complex cases in Puerto Rico, representing over $10 Billion in distressed debt in restructuring and insolvency related proceedings in Puerto Rico. The team provides sophisticated, yet practical and timely legal advice in all areas of bankruptcy and restructuring, and the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (PROMESA). The securities litigation and enforcement group has defended clients in multiple high stakes securities matters. While prepared to take cases to trial or final hearing, they pride themselves in reaching favorable and early results. In keeping with the firm’s mission, the group strives to achieve the best possible results for its clients. The group’s practice areas include: Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Arbitration; Government Investigations; and Enforcement Actions. The group represents clients in different securities matters, including class actions, derivative suits, and individual arbitration claims. It has represented broker-dealers and financial institutions in different administrative and investigative proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as in securities’ related discovery before governmental agencies in formal and informal investigations. They have also represented clients before the state and federal courts in Puerto Rico in securities related litigations, as well as in multiple individual arbitration claims filed before FINRA.
