Its lawyers regularly handle high-value, complex matters across diverse industries, including construction, energy, healthcare, retail, and technology.

The team of five partners and over 19 lawyers is well regarded for its representation in administrative, commercial, civil-real estate, corporate, tax, and constitutional law, as well as government contracting and amparo proceedings. Legal & Fixer has established itself as a trusted partner for clients seeking robust litigation, preventive strategies, and comprehensive corporate advice.

Main Areas of Practice

Commercial and Civil litigation: Representation in complex disputes and trials.

Corporate and Transactions: Advisory on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring, including due diligence, negotiation, and compliance.

Administrative and Public Law: Representation in disputes with government authorities, regulatory compliance, and public procurement processes.

Labour and Employment: Negotiation and legitimisation of collective labour contracts in line with Mexico’s labour reforms.

Practice Areas and Offices

All services are provided from the firm’s headquarters in Guadalajara, where each practice area is led by a partner supported by a dedicated team of associates. The firm maintains a collaborative structure that ensures efficient case management, strategic depth, and close client relationships.

Legal & Fixer also has representative offices in CDMX, Monterrey, Tijuana and Cancún.

Notable cases:

Government collection: Legal & Fixer, representing a pharmaceutical company, initiated a federal lawsuit seeking payment of millions of dollars for the provision of a supply service. The firm obtained a ruling that was favourable to the client, ordering the entity to pay the outstanding amounts owed, as well as the legal consequences of noncompliance.

Auditing and accountability of public accounts: Legal & Fixer defended its client by conducting an exhaustive analysis of the tax documentation related to the provision of services. It promptly met the requirements and prevented the client from being penalized based on the value of the contracts, in accordance with the Federal Auditing and Accountability Law (Ley de Fiscalización y Rendición de Cuentas de la Federación).

Representation in an Amparo lawsuit: Legal & Fixer took on the defence of a taxpayer against whom a tax collection authority was attempting to collect a tax credit. The dispute centred around the challenge of a statutory portion of a revenue law, which primarily violated the principle of tax equity, as established in the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, to the detriment of the client.

Corporate Restructuring: Legal & Fixer advised on the restructuring of a major construction group, including review of corporate records, tax studies, and reform of by-laws and share capital, with transactions exceeding MXN $100 million.

Due Diligence for Hotel Acquisition: The firm conducted comprehensive due diligence and documentation for the acquisition of a high-profile hotel complex in Quintana Roo, ensuring legal certainty over assets, contracts, and permits.

Intellectual Property: Representation in administrative litigation against the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, achieving the registration of a trademark after a successful nullification of the authority’s denial, securing a project exceeding MXN $600 million.

Labour Law: Advised on the legitimisation of collective labour contracts for hundreds of workers across several states, successfully obtaining certificates and preventing potential strikes.

Regulatory Assessment: Carried out a comparative regulatory analysis for the commercialisation of a veterinary device in the United States, Canada, and the EU, enabling international market entry valued at USD $50 million.

Legal & Fixer approaches legal matters with a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and close client collaboration. The firm prioritises rigorous analysis, proactive dispute prevention, and tailored solutions. Its lawyers are known for their ability to navigate both litigation and transactional contexts, ensuring comprehensive legal support aligned with clients’ business objectives.
