Main Areas Of Practice:
The firm’s labor and employment practice includes both traditional labor and employment law matters. Clients include Fortune 500 companies, state and local governments, colleges and universities, regional health care systems, federal contractors, and small to medium businesses in a variety of industries. The firm defends employers before administrative agencies and in employment litigation (including both trial and appellate work), prosecutes and defends restrictive covenant cases, negotiates collective bargaining agreements for public and private sector employers, and defends unionized employers in labor arbitrations and NLRB proceedings. It also conducts workplace investigations, advises human resources professionals on personnel matters, drafts handbooks and employment policies, drafts and negotiates severance agreements, and conducts training of managers and employees on a variety of topics.

The firm’s labor and employment attorneys have received a number of accolades for their professional achievements. In addition to Chambers recognition, for many years the firm’s attorneys have been named to ‘Best Lawyers’ and ‘Super Lawyers’ lists (including the Top 100 Lawyers list in Maryland) and have been awarded the AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Three partners have been inducted into the College of Labor and Employment Attorneys, two have been named Maryland’s Labor and Employment Lawyer of the Year, and one has been named a Maryland Leader in the Law.
